Travel report day 14 - Nearly in the countryside at Himeji castle

9:30h We arrive at Himeji castle. It's a great sight on this perfect day, as it towers over the small city of Himeji. We climb up the five stories, see a lot of old scriptures, letters, paintings and weapons.

13:00h: We buy some yukatas, japanese bathing robes at the tourist shop and head back for Osaka, snapping a quick shot of the Umeda Sky Building. We plan to return there today.

18:15h: Amazed by the sheer size and skillful use of light and mirrors, we lie down on one of the many cleanly polished surfaces and gaze up at the Umeda Sky Building.

19:00h: One last stroll through Osaka towards this one particular running sushi place. Street performers play on the bridges that are everywhere, spanning the traffic packed streets. We will walk for another 2 hours, until finally giving up and trying some rip-off chinese place in the middle of the hostesses and company trip strip clubs.

A little unnerved, we buy late dinner at the supermarket, and more importantly, beer. The hot bath, our last in japan, lightens our spirits, as another guest starts chatting us up in japanese, probably falsely mistaking us for language professionals due to our improved bathing skills and fresh yukatas. Early bed, for tomorrow will be a travel day, back to Tokyo via Kyoto, to upload the new entries.
