Temporal distortion photography

I just stumbled across the amazing KHRONOS projector while browsing for Slit Scan Photography .

Slit Scan photography has been around for a long time, it basically just means that you take a pictures through a moving slit, exposing only a small strip of your film at a given time. If this sounds like gibberish, just imagine placing your hand an a photo copier and moving it with the scanner.... the hand will stretch forever, as long as it moves with the slit.

Now this technology creates fun, yet non-interactive distorted pictures. What would happen if you stored all the movement, but you wouldn't freeze it into the pictures?

Luckily the digital age has made this possible, by adding the time as a third dimension to an image. This 'temporal offset' can then be experienced by 'punching' into the picture. Enough said, just try it out yourself!

Here are some interactive examples using the Processing scripting language:

Landscape Portraits

I noticed a strong drift towards nature photography in my work lately. Maybe it is because of the solitude that the countryside offers, a feeling that is rare to be found in a city in mid summer.

Anyhow, there are two new sets. Sky seems prominent.

A small one

So the Coffee Stain Project didn't yield the best results, but I got this from Maribor instead:

Danke, tom.

I took the opportunity to clean up the whole graffiti section . No all the links should be O.K. again. Let me know if you come across a problem.

Pink clouds and vineyards

Here's what I did today:

1. I twisted my spine and tried to re-align my vertebrae
2. I found the most gorgeous vineyards
3. I saw a rainbow in front of the pink sunset clouds
4. I drove back to vienna after 8 hours of country side

The autumn soul

I had to take the Travel Logs offline again, as I am currently in no state to work on them.
I will at some point share my pictures and stories from Japan, Mexico and Russia. For now however, none of this is important.

The last addition to the impressions is my dearest friend Nadeshda who provides support in dire times.

Spring is coming

Dear Friends,

It is time to cast aside the veil of winter and remember that there is a real world outside.
To help you doing that, here are three impressions of places eyeweiss went to during the last 2 months: Cologne, California and Obertauern . Rise and shine!

note: title corrected

Next house: with tree

I'm posting old stuff again, but that's because it matches this morning's breakfast conversation.
It was decided that, should we ever move again, it won't be towards anywhere near a city. Since countryside is sparse in Europe, Colorado was brought up as an idea.

I'm fine with that, as long as I get to have at least one tree next to my house.
